EXERCISE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BODY AND SOUL: A class blending several modes of modern
dance. Complete with graceful moves, great music and mood
lighting. You can get whatever you want out of this
class-make it an intense workout or use it as a way to loosen
up. Either way you're going to love it.
IRON WORKS: “GROUP STRENGTH CLASS, BUILDING A BETTER BODY FOR YOU”
Taking traditional strength training one step further, similar to
Body Pump classes. IRON WORKS is designed around a 4.5lb barbell,
which can be used alone or with additional plates. Group strength
training emphasizes progressive and periodization to optimize
muscle strength, endurance, reactive stability and power as well
as body shape and definition. All fitness levels are welcome.
Class is limited to 20 participants. This class is sprinkled
though out the week, pick and choose.
NIA: (Non impact aerobics) Enjoy a new form of fitness,
blending Pilates, Yoga and Modern Dance. Dances are taught in
three different intensity levels. Dances are choreographed to an
eclectic variety of music. Nia is designed to embrace and create
wholeness by meeting the needs of the body as well as mind,
emotions and spirit. All fitness levels welcomed.
AQUA WAVES: A cardiovascular and
strengthening session without the stress of a land class.
Different instructors each with their own unique style teach this
class. Try them all for a good varied workout.
CARDIO PILATES: Mat pilates goes vertical!
Add light resistance, challenge your balance and stability and
elevate your heart rate slightly with this no-impact class.
HYDRO POWER: A challenging aerobic and
resistance water exercise class using a variety of fun and
innovative techniques for your conditioning. Expect a variety of
training tools to be used.
YOGA: Realize the tremendous benefits of
stretching, breathing and relaxation . Yoga is for everyone,
experience the difference.
KICKBOXING: Join our great kickboxing
instructors with a high energy workout of cardio boxing moves.
This class will challenge your cardio capacity like no other
workout. Safe and effective form is stressed and low impact moves
are demonstrated for those just getting started.
AB LAB: 30 minutes of abdominal training.
Variety of moves that target core and back muscles.
CIRCUIT CIRCUS - Looking for something out of
the ordinary, join the fun. Strength stations set-up using BOSU,
Body Bars, TRX suspension cables, gliding disc’s, weights and
benches. Cardio drills performed as a group. Two minutes of
strength with two minutes of cardio. The time flies by and you’ll
love the variety.
STAY STRONG: This class is the beginning step to ease all
your fears about working with weights. Light weights will be used,
with focus of working the muscles through
full range of movement. Functional movement exercises are
incorporated to help provide us with the balance and flexibility
for active living.
GUTS AND BUTTS: These sessions
are focusing on toning and strengthening of our core, low back,
gluteals & hamstrings. Get the most out of this class by
coming warmed up with a few minutes of cardio or take the
Steptacular class immediately before hand.
CYCLE & SCULPT: A mix of cycling and strength moves.
You will get on and off the bike during this class so it is a
great way to get your bum used to a full hour Group Cycling class.
Wear workout shoes (rather than cycling shoes) to this class for
easier mobility.
GROUP CYCLING: Join this indoor cycling class for a great
motivating ride. The music and the instructor will carry you
through a workout that can be performed by
just about any fitness level.
STEPTACULAR: These choreography moves will keep your heart
rate up for the full class. We’ll take you through basic moves
and fancy them up as we go. If you don’t like the fancy, you can
stick with the basic. . . Give it a try.
TRX: The TRX suspension trainer is a body weight based
trainer tool that builds strength, balance, flexibility and core
stability for people of all fitness levels.
TRX Conditioning: Take your TRX to the next level by adding cardio bursts. This format will introduce participants to a safe, energetic and extremely effective workout.
HOUR OF POWER: A serious calorie burning workout, this class combines the jump rope class with the well loved guts & butts-interval style. Get ready to rev up your metabolism while firming up trouble zones!
BODY FUSION: A
great blend of cardio and strength. Slow repetitions will enhance muscle
fiber recruitment and the cardio flow will increase flexibility and raise your
heart rate.!
TAI CHI: Rhythmic and meditative body movements conducted
slowly, deliberately, and gracefully, with each movement flowing
seamlessly into the next without hesitation. Designed to enhance
relaxation, inner calm, and peace. Meets in city parks
during summer months.
ZUMBA: ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music - dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. |
